Day 14 /Last Woek day.

We left Keller park to meet up with Clinton Desautel, Rob Mallery, Lance Loenan, they showed us around. They showed us the Equipment they use in the field. Clint told us, “when you know to much about fire that’s the time to retire.” I feel like this means those people are putting their lives and others at risk because he thinks he knows everything, he’s dangerous . So after he took us to the lake called twins lakes. 2 Students and 1 Teacher got in the lake to swim. One of my teachers fell off the log. And he made sure I didn’t rub his shoulders. I’m mad. 😂 later after that he took us to place on the side of Road called bridge creek Rd. A fire happened there last fall and it burned 36 hundred acres. So we left back to camp after. But we got wood for this Friday night for amazing food.

day 13.

We met up with Lucy Luevano. So talked to us about the history of Colville Tribe. She took us around to the 2 museums called Fort Okanogan and the colville tribe museum. l Then she took us to the place called “government center “ she inspired me to learn my tribes history. Later that day we packed up and relocated to Keller park with shade and grass. I’m mad. 😂 but one thing I learned from the one of the museums is that we should keep our old ways, but I wanna turn it in to something better, you know ? It’s cool and all but we should take something that was given to us and turn it in something more amazing than what it is today. We can’t because we’re losing our elders to show us the old ways. That’s one thing I learned. I wonder if that’s a bad thing. Because the youth is the future. We will love and take care of Nature.

Day 12 /blogging/ travel day

We were all serious to get up to date with our blogs. Some of us did. Some of didn’t. But the whole day was like a lazy day, but not you know? So we left wellpinit. We want a amazing camp site with showers, peaceful place. With no shade, no grass. It was hot but I thought it would be worth it. We relocated the next morning.

day 11.

We want to Kalispell early that morning. We did talked to a lot of people like fishery biologist, Etc. we got to go this language school they have they talked about how we should study our language. I thought it was important because it’s our personal life, our ways of speaking. Then we want to the community center where they had basketball, swimming pool, and games, as in air hockey, 8pool, etc. We had dinner across from the center at the pow wow grounds, we had Indian tacos, which was amazing. But they have buffalo that was right by the powwow grounds. We want back to camp which was 1hr and half away.

day 10.

We met B.J. He’s head of department of natural resources. He talked about the issues with the Dam being a big issue because no Salmon are going into the Spokane reservation or beyond. The second biggest problem was the mines poisoning the water because the uranium was leaking in water steam. Then we talked to fire management. Pretty cool they talked about how they set the fires by themselves so the plants and trees can grow healthier. It’s less competition for the bigger plants if they take out the little ones. Then we talked to Brian he was fishery biologist. We were looking for red band trout, and I shocked fish first that day. But we went in separate groups, and everyone got stung by bees. 😂 I’m glad I wasn’t with them. It was super hot that day.
